I was born at the Oak 1932 My father Harry kept the Oak from 1917- 1945 and was then taken over by my sister Winnie and her husband Charles Salter I think they were there for about 30 years ***

The Oak in the early 1950s when it had been modernised
The top picture shows my sister Winnie with her husband (Fredrick) Charlie Salter at the bar, and the outside view you can see the left window decorated with advertising, they also ran a general grocery store from that room as did my mother before the war, but closed it because of rationing ***
