Year/Publican or other Resident/Relationship to Head and or Occupation/Age/Where Born/Source.

The King's Head was my great-grandfather David Bloom's pub from 1900 until he died in 1926. The building was built in the 1820s in the early days of Commercial Road. Years ago it was very ornate and Victorian, and was repainted and restored in the 1970s. Unfortunately it was bought by a developer who destroyed the old pub and turned it into a commercial building about five years ago. The pub was in my great-grandfather's brother-in-law Abraham Golders's name from about 1900 to about 1906, and then in another brother-in-law David Harris's name, for a long forgotten legal reason. However, David Bloom was the tenant for 25 years and he and his family (wife, five children, mother, several nieces and nephews!) all lived in the rooms above the pub, where my grandfather, Benjamin Bloom was born in 1900. Tower Hamlets local history library has a photo. ***

I get hundreds of emails every day, fortunately most 'spam mails' are deleted by my mail scan settings. The final emails are delivered to various email addresses, and replying to these are not always successful. If you do not hear from me in a timely fashion, please feel free to email again, I do not mind! This is a pure PUBS history site, I doubt if I know where the PUBS are NOW, but try the site for where they were a hundred years ago, again enjoy!
